She is one of the richest stars on the planet with an estimated $105m fortune and country songbird Taylor Swift wants to give something back.

The I Knew You Were Trouble hitmaker has been named DoSomething.org's most charitable celebrity of 2013.

Swift leads the list, which includes One Direction and Beyoncé, for the second year running with the help of good deeds including a $100,000 (£60,000) donation to the Nashville Symphony and headlining the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's fundraising event for homeless charity Centrepoint.

Coming in second place was Swift's former lover Harry Styles' boyband One Direction, whose Comic Relief single One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) raised over £2m to help those living in poverty. They also raised $784,345 in donations for cancer research.

Beyoncé did her part to secure third place on the list by headlining the Chime for Change concert in London.

Fourth place went to late Fast & Furious star Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in November.

His Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) charity, a network of professionals with first responder skills - doctors, nurses, firefighters, paramedics, and other disaster-survival specialists - help out thousands of victims of natural disasters.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis rounded off the top five thanks to award-winning track Same Love, which addresses the straight rapper's personal feelings about the controversial issue of same-sex relationships.
