Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed stories linking him with the Chelsea job. The 43-year-old Argentine is among the big-name candidates said to be in contention for the position, but Pochettino has insisted he is happy at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino is just 18 months into a five-year deal with the North London club and has revealed he has no intention of leaving his current post prematurely.

"I'm very happy here," he said, according to The Mirror. "We've created a very good group, with a strong basis for success in the future and I'm very happy.

"My job is to be focused, not to hear rumours. The most important thing is that I'm focused on my job. It's the same with any rumours about players, there's a lot of names in the media now. But my focus is here, to try for success at Tottenham and to work hard."

Meanwhile, Pochettino has lavished praise on Mousa Dembele, who has signed a new contract keeping him at Tottenham until 2019. "It's true he's improved a lot from last season, from my point of view. We are very happy in the way he's improved his quality, his mentality, and for that I think the club is very happy he's signed his new contract," the Tottenham boss said.

Tottenham currently sit in fourth position in the Premier League, while reigning champions Chelsea languish down in 13th.
