Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City at White Hart Lane as Spurs are shown a glimmer of hope in the race for a top-four finish, following Manchester United's loss against West Bromwich Albion.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 4pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

A win here for Tottenham will take them within four points off a top four spot, following United's loss in the weekend and with three matches left, there is still some light at the end of the tunnel in their dream to secure a Champions League space.

Young Player of the Year winner Harry Kane has to be at his best if they have to breach a miserly City defence, who have not been at their very best in the fag end of the season.

Tottenham have not had the best of months either, failing to take advantage of their wins against Arsenal and Chelsea, heavily facilitated by their over reliance on Kane, who has been their standout player this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has stressed the importance of spending money in the summer and bring in a few attack minded players to supplement Kane, failing which will see a similar campaign next season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will be desperate for a win and thereby secure their position in the top four. A loss here, will keep the gates open for Spurs and Liverpool to close an unlikely gap over the reigning Champions.

The Champions survived a massive scare against Aston Villa last weekend, where Tim Sherwood's men came back to level the score at 2-2 from being two goals down. However, Sergio Aguero scored the winner late in the game, to keep City's hunt for a top-three place alive.

What managers say

Mauricio Pochettino: "It is not easy in the Premier League. When you compete for the Premier League and fight with sides like Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and us it is never easy - I'm not surprised (they have struggled). The Premier League is the toughest league in the world. Man City have great players but it is not easy to win the Premier League. If you can see La Liga in Spain it is only Barcelona and Real Madrid on the same level who can win the trophy but here in England it is very different."

Manuel Pellegrini: "It will be a very tough game because Tottenham are a good team with good players and a good manager. They play in an offensive way so we must work very hard in defence. They need points to qualify for the Europa League and we must try to be near the top of the table. It is two teams who play well and try to attack. We are thinking just to win the next game, this moment we are two points ahead of United so its just depends on what we can do, if we can reach the second place."
