In the absence of captain John Terry, Antonio Conte started summer signing David Luiz alongside Gary Cahill in the heart of the back four. The latter's error helped Alexis Sanchez give the north London club an early lead, before Theo Walcott doubled it within minutes.

Mesut Ozil got his name on the scorehseet in the first half as Arsenal scored three first half goals against the west London club, which was sufficient for them to bag three points.
