Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has suggested that Raheem Sterling's agent is to blame for the striker's transfer tussle at Liverpool.

Sterling has delayed signing a new Liverpool contract, and his agent Aidy Ward, in an interview with the Evening Standard, said his client has "no interest" in committing his future to the Merseyside club.

"I don't want to single out people. Discretion is the best way," the Gunners boss said. "I can understand the media are interested but there is added difficulty if things are aired out in public.

"Most of the time, it's not the player that is a problem. The agent and player comes as a package. Sometimes the agent is the problem."
