Survival drama The Revenant was the big winner at the 2016 Baftas on 14 February, scooping up the best picture prize, as well as awards in direction, cinematography, sound and a leading actor nod for Leonardo DiCaprio.

DiCaprio, winning his first Bafta having being nominated three times previously, said he was "humbled and honoured" by the award before thanking his mother and wishing her a happy birthday.

Brie Larson picked up the best actress award for her turn as a young mother held captive with her son in Room, with Mark Rylance and Kate Winslet winning the best supporting actor and actress awards for their roles in Bridge of Spies and Steve Jobs respectively.

The EE Rising Star Awards, the only prize voted for by the public, was given to Star Wars actor John Boyega, who said he wanted to share the award with: "All the young dreamers who are determined, who are hard working and who are frankly amazing."
