Overview
Benfica's unbeaten 13-match run came to an end after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to FC Porto in the league at home. Konstantinos Mitroglou gave the hosts the lead in the 18th minute, but two goals from Hector Herrera and Vincent Aboubakar in the second half saw Porot walk away with three points.
Rui Vitoria's side have not kept a clean sheet in their last five Champions League fixtures. Benfica will be hoping they can stop the Russian outfit from scoring the crucial away goal when they face them on Tuesday evening.
Zenit, on the other hand, also come into the fixture with a four-match unbeaten run. Apart from their 2-1 defeat to Gent in the final group stage fixture of the Europe's elite club competition, Andre Villas-Boas' have managed five wins in their first five matches as they sealed a berth in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
