Chelsea and Manchester United have suffered a big blow in their hopes to lure Antoine Griezmann away from Atlético Madrid after the French international has revealed he is in talks to renew his contract at the Vicente Calderón Stadium. The 25-year-old forward has said he is so happy at Diego Simeone's side that not even a call from Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidae would change his mind to stay at Los Colchoneros for the long-term.

As already reported in January, Atlético Madrid were looking to reward Griezmann's with a lucrative new deal in order to increase his release clause from his current €80m (£63m, $90.5m) to something more than €100m. Yet, the Frenchman reportedly rejected the club intentions amid the interest of all Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in his services.

The Mirror reported last month that Chelsea were ready to step up the pursuit to secure his services during the coming summer transfer window after having been linked with his services in recent years.

The Sun later claimed that Manchester United were also ready to join the race to lure him to Old Trafford in a deal worth £65m.

But Griezmann has told the Premier League giants and Real Madrid to forget about his signing as he wants to remain at the Vicente Calderón, and is now ready to sign the new proposed deal.

"If Zidane calls me [and asks me to join Real] I will say that I'm atAtlético," Griezmann said to Canal + France. "Zidane is a great person, but I'm here. I'm even talking to renew my contract. I hope [the talks] will succeed."

Griezmann has scored 32 goals in 53 appearances for Atlético Madrid this season, including seven in the Champions League to lead his side to the final against Real Madrid on 28 May.

"I am satisfied with everything that I have lived this season. I hope I can finish the campaign by winning the Champions League and then the Euro [2016 UEFA European Championship, with France]," he added. "The Champions League final is going to be a great game. It will be my first Champions League final and I hope to lift the trophy and do a good game."
