Chelsea are chasing Hamburg SV star Hakan Calhanoglu, according to reports.

The Turkey international, who signed a four-year deal with Hamburg from Karlsruher in summer 2012, has emerged as one of the most talented players in the Bundesliga.

According to Daily AS, Jose Mourinho's side would be willing to pay £13m to bring the young attacking midfielder to Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer transfer window – as the Portuguese sees a great prospect in the youngster.

Calhanoglu has also attracted interest from Chelsea's Champions League semi-final opponents Atletico Madrid. Chelsea are said to be ready to prepare a bid to secure his services – and, according to The Sun, Blues officials will meet the German club over signing the Turkey international.

However, Cholo Simeone's side have in their favour the huge admiration the youngster has for Atletico star Arda Turan, who would be happy to train him for La Liga.

The 20-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 32 Bundesliga's appearances, has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal during the January window, but chose to commit to HSV.

Calhanoglu - who has been key to Hamburg this season - has been compared with Arsenal's Mesut Ozil for his quality and vision of the game.
