Clashes have erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers during a demonstration ahead of Nakba Day in Hussan Village, south of Bethlehem.

Local reports says about 300 Palestinians marched on the main road, chanting and waving Palestinian flags, towards displaced Palestinian villages south of Bethlehem,

Israeli troops can be seen hear firing stun and smoke grenades at the crowds. These Palestinian youths threw stones at the soldiers, with an Israeli Army spokesperson saying that the troops responded to these attacks with riot-dispersal means.

Nakba Day marks the Palestinian's loss of their homes on the 15th May 1948, the day the state of Israel was founded and thousands of Palestinians found themselves displaced. Additional demonstrations are planned in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza on Wednesday
