News has just reached us that twelve people have been killed by a car bomb while at a funeral in the Jaramana suburb of the Syrian capital Damascus.

This footage shows the mangled remains of vehicles after the blast. The funeral was for two supporters of the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, according to a UK-based opposition group. The two had been killed in a bomb attack on Monday, initial reports said. Injuries were also reported by witnesses, with state media putting the number of wounded at 48.

Meanwhile over in Idlib a fresh wave of heavy fighting and artillery fire from Assad troops has left scores of people dead and wounded and buildings destroyed,. This unconfirmed video footage uploaded onto a media website, shows craters and debris corresponding to massive blasts, as fire burned in vehicles and groups of people used any means of transport available to move casualties.

There have been an increasing number of activist video clips posted on social media in the past few weeks which are said to show air attacks on Syrian cities as the fighting refocuses on the Damascus centre and outer areas.
