American actor and singer Drake Bell, faced a major backlash after his transphobic Twitter post on Caitlyn Jenner.

Following the recent announcement of his transgender struggle, Bruce Jenner made his anticipated debut as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, with his new name revealed as Caitlyn Jenner.

The 27-year-old Drake & Josh star said he will not refer to Caitlyn Jenner by her name.

"Sorry... still calling you Bruce," Bell wrote, which he later deleted.

Following the comment, Bell received criticism from Caitlyn's fans.

If you're ever having a bad day, just remember you're worth more than Drake Bell pic.twitter.com/ZV0gWS1s4R

Just lost any and all remaining respect for Drake Bell. Fact: you can call her Caitlyn AND remember her legacy at the same time.

Meanwhile, during an interview with Access Hollywood, Caitlyn's mother Esther said that she was introduced to the 65-year-old former Olympian's female identity last month.

"I was there last week, well actually, I got home a week and a half ago. And I met Caitlyn. She is... so much more at ease," she said.

"I still have to call him Bruce. His father and I named him that. It's going to be a struggle for me to get used to the change, but happily so... I'm very happy for him — or her," Esther added.
