Soloway's father, who came out as transgender in 2011, inspired the series and she said, her parent's courageous example has now allowed Bruce Jenner to share the truth of his life.

"Knowing that Transparent helped Bruce to see a family where somebody came out and everybody survived, my first phone call was to my parent to say, 'Look what your bravery did. Your bravery allowed me to tell this story. And this story allowed this person to come out.

"This person who is an American hero, and who is now an American hero for the second time. And who happens to be the patriarch of the most famous family on the planet."

The former Olympic athlete was the focus of intense speculation regarding his changing appearance. He spoke publicly about his transition to becoming a woman in an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer.

In the two-part TV special titled Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, the reactions of the Kardashian clan to Bruce's revelations have been filmed, demonstrating the adjustment the whole family have undergone.

While Kim has been described as the most supportive of the family, it has been suggested that 17-year-old Kylie Jenner is struggling to come to term's with her father's decision to go through a full gender transition.

According to The Daily Mail Kylie has said she no longer wants to be part of the TV reality show that propelled the family to global fame

A source is reported as saying: "She has no interest in being a part of the series any more. The entire experience with Bruce has made her realise it's time to leave. Bruce felt he'd waited long enough to open up and transform the way he wanted, but Kylie wasn't ready and feels blindsided."
Meanwhile, Bruce revealed he has undergone several surgeries to make his face appear more feminine and expects to undergo full gender transformation by early Spring.
