Is Steve Harvey Getting Fired From 'Family Feud'? Here's What We Know
Family Feud has been courting controversy recently for some of its provocative questions and answers. Despite this, Steve Harvey is continuing on the show.

Family Feud is an iconic show that millions of viewers have tuned in to watch for decades, with Emmy nominee Steve Harvey serving as the show's host since 2010. As the name suggests, it's a programme that appeals to just about anyone, and its content is relatively PG, for the most part.
In recent years, however, Family Feud has come under scrutiny for some of its increasingly inappropriate content. This has left fans wondering if Harvey will remain on the show for much longer.
'Family Feud' Has Been Stirring Controversy Lately
For a game show that's been on the air for decades, keeping content fresh can be quite a challenge. After all, Family Feud is where two families compete to name the top answer from survey questions that cover just about anything.
Some of these questions might centre around animals. Others might involve household items. There are also survey questions that revolve around some of the United States' most popular holidays, which is exactly what happened back in 2024.
In a Fourth of July-themed episode, Harvey asked the contestants, 'The Fourth of July has become a holiday where people gather to see who can eat the most what?' In response, one of the contestants immediately answered, 'Hot dogs,' which was number one on the list. During the reveal, however, the board displayed the words 'Plump wieners' instead, much to everyone's shock. Another Fourth of July-themed episode featured adult humour in the past.
Since then, Family Feud has faced criticism with a source telling the National Examiner that the show is 'relying on tacky humor to boost ratings.' And while it's unclear if Harvey himself has any say on the survey questions and answers featured on the show, the longtime host is reportedly 'getting caught in the crossfire.' 'People are accusing him of pandering to the contestants, no matter how over the top and tacky they're getting with answers,' the source added.
Is Steve Harvey Getting Fired From 'Family Feud'?
Family Feud may be pushing things a little too far recently, but there's nothing to indicate that Harvey himself is getting blamed for it. Moreover, the National Examiner source also explained that the 'powers that be don't want to lose Steve.' That said, the show needs to 'clean up and do better.'
Despite these program issues, it's safe to say that Family Feud isn't going anywhere. Back in 2023, the hit game show scored a two-year renewal for its 2025 and 2026 seasons from Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury, which distributes the show. In a statement, Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus also praised Family Feud for being 'a proven demo and household ratings winner.'
Meanwhile, Kim Kleid, the SVP for Current Programming at Fremantle, which produces the show, referred to Harvey as an 'unmatched talent.' 'It is easy to see why the audience tunes in and enjoys it on a daily basis,' she added.
Meanwhile, things are doing better than ever in the wider Family Feud franchise. Season 11 of Celebrity Family Feud, a spinoff also hosted by Harvey, saw its biggest premiere in three years, pulling in over four million total viewers. This might have something to do with the show kicking off its latest season with the combined star power of Jennifer Hudson and Taraji P. Henson. Of course, there's the Steve Harvey factor, too.
