One fan and a police officer have been shot ahead of the Italian Cup final between Napoli and Fiorentina in Rome.

The football supporter who is said to be in a serious condition, was reportedly hit in the chest, while the police officer was shot in the hand.

The football fans were gathering for the match at the Olympic Stadium when the incident occurred.

Three Napoli supporters were also injured in clashes, as rival fans threw firecrackers at each other.

Fans of Roma were also seen throwing bottles and stones.

Up to 30,000 Fiorentina and Napoli supporters have been flooding into the city, amid reports of crowd trouble in the Tor di Quinto area.
