A grandfather has been barred from every supermarket in the UK after being caught masturbating in Sainsbury's meat aisle.

Eugenio Freitas, 49, was taped on CCTV pleasuring himself for 10 minutes at the Sainsbury's store in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

Freitas, a married father-of-four, pleaded guilty to the charge of outraging public decency and was given a six-month suspended prison sentence.

The court heard how Freitas had become overwhelmed by his "excessive sexual drive" after fully intending to go shopping on 8 July.

"At first a member of staff gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was adjusting himself," said prosecutor Marcus Harry.

"But she was then called to the CCTV area after a shopper complained to a security officer.

"The staff member and security officer viewed CCTV of the defendant.

"He was seen for about ten minutes with his hands down his trousers and in his pocket with his hands moving around."

In 2010, Freitas was put on the sex offenders' register after being found guilty of exposing himself in another supermarket.

He has been banned from stepping foot in any of Britain's supermarkets unless he is supervised by an adult.
