A man has been charged with two counts of murder after a married couple were found dead in their home following a "violent and sustained" attack.

Viktoras Bruzas, 38, from Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court accused of murdering Patrick and Gillian Kettyle, in Fetcham, Surrey.

He was arrested following a manhunt involving Interpol and the National Crime Agency as he drove through Oxshott, less than five miles away from them murder scene.

The Lithuanian national was known to the Kettyles and is reported to be in a relationship with a secretary at Mr Kettyle's building firm.

The couple, were in their 50s, are believed to have died as a result of stab wounds.

Det Chief Inspector Mark Preston said after Bruzas's arrest: "This is a tragic incident which has shaken the close community in Fetcham.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who assisted with the search for Viktoras Bruzas including members of the public and the media."

Another man in his 30s who was arrested on 27 November has been released, with no further action taken against him.
