Switzerland take on Ecuador in the first match of Group E at the Estadio Nacional, Brasilia on Sunday.

Where to Watch Live

The kickoff is set for 5pm BST. Live coverage is on ITV. Radio commentary of the game will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Overview

Switzerland come into the tournament with a fully fit squad boasting several known names. Seven of Switzerland's expected starting XI have played in the top six clubs either in Germany or Italy this season.

Ottmar Hitzfeld will be banking on in-form striker Josep Drmic, who had a prolific domestic season to lead the attack and the Swiss team's push to the knockout phase of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Ecuador come into the tournament with plenty of injury concerns. They have lost their most experienced midfielder Segundo Castillo to injury and another key player Christian Noboa is also a doubt after picking up a knock

Reinaldo Rueda will be hoping captain Valencia and the young players coming in will be ready for the fight.

This is the first ever meeting between Switzerland and Ecuador. Switzerland have only lost one match in their previous 18 internationals going back to May 2012.

What Managers Say

Ottmar Hitzfels (Switzerland): "We started a transition four years ago; we have rejuvenated the group of experienced players. The team are better, more attacking, more creative, with better organisation than in 2010."

Reinaldo Rueda (Ecuador): ''We are conscious of our potential as well as the differences we have within our group rivals. But I trust Ecuador has a very good group and a very supportive one. They will know how to bear with the first 30 minutes, which will be very important against a team that put us under great pressure. But I hope to dictate the pace of the match, to have the game under our control."
