As fans eagerly await the announcement of Battlefield 5 on 6 May, publisher EA and developer DICE are celebrating by giving away free DLC for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. Players can pick up the Battlefield 4 add-on 'Dragon's Teeth' and the Battlefield Hardline expansion 'Robbery' for free, now through 10 May.

The downloads are part of EA's 'Road to Battlefield' initiative, leading up to the unveiling of the series' next instalment. Both expansions are available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Origin for PC.

Originally released in July 2014, Battlefield's infantry-focused DLC, Dragon's Teeth, will offer four maps set in the Asia-Pacific region, the Chain Link game mode and additional gadgets including the R.A.W.R. ground vehicle.

Battlefield Hardline's Robbery expansion will include a game mode that allows criminal teams to plan and execute heists. Law enforcement must try to stop the crooks before they can pull off the heist.

DICE is also running a community mission for players to unlock special rewards. Players who collectively score 300,000 points in Battlefield Hardline's Heist mode between 3-10 May will get a Gold Battlepack. The developer will continue to hand out expansion packs for both the titles "over the next few months."

Meanwhile, EA Access subscribers on Xbox One can get Battlefield: Hardline Premium for free from the Xbox Store. Origin Access subscribers can grab it from the Origin Store.

EA will reveal the next Battlefield title during a livestream on 6 May at 4PM EST (8PM BST).
