Galaxy Note 2 Gets Android 4.3 with N7100XXUEMI6 Leaked Test Firmware

Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 gets its first ever Android 4.3 stock firmware via N7100XXUEMI6 test firmware, which was reportedly leaked on tinhte.vn and then posted on XDA forums by rayblo.

According to SamMobile, the new test firmware for Galaxy Note 2 brings a few notable enhancements to core UI elements similar to Galaxy S4 and Note 3's interface, including the tabbed settings.

In related news, a similar test firmware has also been leaked for Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 by an unidentified Samsung insider. As the leaked firmware is still under development, it may harbour a few untested bugs or broken features.

Samsung is unlikely to release the latest Android 4.3 update for Note 2 anytime soon, as it is still under development. Those who cannot wait for its official release can proceed with our step-by-step guide to install the same manually.

How to Update Galaxy Note 2 N7100 with Android 4.3 XXUEMI6 Jelly Bean Test Firmware

Step 1: Extract firmware zip file via winrar or 7zip or winzip tool to get a .tar.md5 file and some other files.
Step 2: Extract Odin zip file to obtain Odin3 v3.09.exe along with few other files.
Step 3: Power off the Galaxy Note 2.
Step 4: Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Home, Volume Down and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Then hit Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Run Odin on computer as an Administrator.
Step 6: Connect the Galaxy Note 2 to computer via USB cable while the phone is still in Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device and the ID: COM box turns light blue with the corresponding COM port number. Also, a message saying "Added" appears on screen following every successful connection.

Note: If the Added message fails to appear, then try re-installing USB drivers or changing the port on computer.

Step 7: In Odin, Click the AP button and select the AP_N7100XXUEM16_CP_N7100XXEM16_CSC_N7100XAEM16_BY_WVAZ_DINK.tar file.
Step 8: Verify that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are chosen in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option is NOT selected.

Step 9: Verify steps 7 and 8 are done correctly and then click Start button to begin installation.
Step 10: Once the firmware installation completes, your phone will reboot and soon a PASS message with green background appears in the left-most box at the very top of Odin. It is now safe to unplug the USB cable to disconnect the phone from computer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 should be now updated with leaked Android 4.3 XXUEMI6 Jelly Bean firmware. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version installed.

Note: If Galaxy Note 2 N7100 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Home, Volume Up and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before choosing reboot system now function. In recovery mode use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select an option. Please note that performing wiping task will erase your device's internal memory and not data on external SD card.
