We all know Halloween is just a fortnight away but the recent discovery of a bizarre looking animal in the sea will definitely creep you out before the festival knocks on your door.

A strange looking alien like sea creature was caught by a deep sea fisherman in Singapore.

Ong Han Boon was on his boat floating over the island of Sentosa, his favourite fishing spot, aiming to grab some fresh catch for lunch.

But when he saw the bizarre looking sea animal he had caught, he was beyond amused.

His mystery catch looked like a cross between a starfish and an octopus with 100 moving arms.

"When I pulled it out of the water, I was completely flummoxed by what I was looking at," Boon told a local radio station via New York Post.

"I've had quite a few odd things come out of the ocean, but I have never seen anything like this before in my life. It had all these arms waving around."

The deep sea fisherman suspects the weird catch to be some sort of mutant or alien. He also doesn't rule out pollution as the cause that transformed the physical appearance of the original sea creature.

"I thought it looked like an alien or some kind of mutant, I've asked all my friends and none of them know and all my internet searches have not turned up anything that looks like this."

"So, if no one can't identify it then I guess I'm right - it's either an alien or I've discovered a new species of mutant sea creature. That would not surprise me with all the pollution they put in the water nowadays."
