Police investigating the Hatton Garden safe deposit box raid have arrested a 10<sup>th man in connection with the £200m heist.

Metropolitan Police said they arrested a 42-year-old man from Essex on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.

The arrest arrived as eight other men charged in connection with the heist appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Two of the men charged include father and son Brian Reader, 76, and Paul Reader, 50. They were charged along with six other men aged between 48 and 74 with conspiracy to burgle.

A ninth man who was arrested along with the other eight suspects has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The contents of 56 safe deposit boxes were taken during the raid in London's jewellery district over the Easter weekend. Professional heavy cutting equipment was used to break into a vault at in Holborn, central London.

Following their appearances in court, both Readers, as well as Terry Perkins, 67, Daniel Jones, 58, Hugh Doyle, 48, William Lincoln, 59, John Collins, 74, and Carl Wood, 58, were remanded in custody until 4 June.
