Claudio Ranieri made a winning start to his Inter Milan managerial career after leading his side to a comfortable 3-1 victory of Bologna.

Inter Milan sacked Gian Piero Gasperini last week and replace d him with the experienced manager ahead of the game and the Inter Milan players responded well to the change. Inter Milan saw a difference in both the approach to the game as well as the tactics used with goals from Diego Milito, Giampaolo Pazzini and Lucio earning the 2009 champions their first win of the season.

AC Milan also recorded their first win of the season after defeating Cesena 1-0 at the San Siro.

AC Milan was without star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic but a first half strike from Clarence Seedorf earned the Rossoneri all three points. Ac Milan will be hoping that the win will kick start their hopes of retaining the Serie A crown they won last season.

Roma also recorded their first three points of the season after a 1-0 victory over Parma.

Roma dominated the game from first to last but a combination of bad finishing and strong Parma defending made the night nervier than it otherwise may have been. Pablo Osvaldo's goal after 50 minutes was enough to seal all three points for Luis Enrique's men but after seeing his side record 18 shots on goal, the Spaniard would have hoped for a more commanding score line.

Juventus' were only able a 1-1 draw away to Catania.

The Old Lady has made a solid start to the 2011/12 Serie A season but were halted in their tracks by a resilient Catania display. Juventus had to come from a goal down to level the game with Milan Krasic finding the net to earn Juve a point and move them to the top of Serie A.
