Kanye West is making a video game about his deceased mother ascending to heaven and he debuted the first look at it on 11 February. The trailer was shown during a live-stream event for his new album, The Life Of Pablo, and new Yeezy Season 3 fashion collection.

The brief trailer shows West's mother Donda West riding a Pegasus and flying toward the pearly gates before revealing the title Only One – a reference to a song West released in 2015 about his mother, who died in 2007. The song also features Paul McCartney.

No official high-quality trailer has been made public as of yet and we do not yet know on what platforms to expect the game. You can watch the trailer below.

Following the trailer being aired, West did not seem particularly happy with the response, saying: "That's not easy to do, man! Y'all just be acting like that s**t is regular... No, you don't understand. I go out and meet with everybody in San Fran, and they'll diss the f**k out of me. And I'll be like, 'I wanna make a game,' and they'll be like, 'f**k you.' That was hard to do, bro!"

West told WWPR-FM of New York: "The idea is, it's my mother going through the gates of heaven, and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light. We've been working on it for like six months."

The fashion show/album listening party took place at Madison Square Garden in New York and was watched by 20 million people through music streaming service Tidal, according to a press release (via The Verge). The volume of people watching caused some technical problems as well, according to Def Jam Records.
