Leicester City – which had a 5,000/1 odds of winning at the beginning of the season – are Premier League champions thanks to Tottenham Hotspurs drawing with Chelsea on 2 May. Tottenham were winning 2-0 at half-time and it looked like the title race would stay open until at least 7 May, but Chelsea secured a 2-2 draw thanks to a late Eden Hazard goal.

Video was shared from outside the King Power Stadium after the final whistle was blown at Stamford Bridge, showing fans celebrating their well-earned first Premier League title. Fans had also gathered outside Vardy's house to celebrate the impending victory, and could be seen chanting and cheering as the game went on.

Leicester captain Wes Morgan said: "It's the best feeling of my career and I couldn't be prouder that it's as part of this team. Everyone's worked so hard for this, nobody believed we could do it, but here we are, Premier League champions and deservedly so."

Leicester's Premier League crowning has been labelled as sport's most unlikely triumph, and it finally marks a top-tier victory for Claudio Ranieri. The Italian finished second with Chelsea in 2004, and was runner-up once in Ligue 1 and twice in Serie A.
