Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom is reportedly close to agreeing a season-long loan deal with newly promoted Premier League side Norwich City, according to the Guardian.

The England U21 international only recently signed a new four-year deal to remain at Anfield at least until the summer of 2019, and was expected to be given a chance at right-back by Brendan Rodgers during the upcoming campaign.

But he is now expected to complete a temporary switch to the Canaries from the 2015/16 campaign after the Carrow Road outfit reportedly made a tempting £1.25m ($1.95m) loan fee offer.

Liverpool have signed Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton and it is unlikely that Wisdom would have got regular playing time with the England international in the squad and moreover, Joe Gomez, who arrived from Charlton can also play at full back positions.

This will be the 22-year-old defender's third loan spell in as many seasons, after he spent 2013/14 with Derby County in the Championship and last season he was with West Bromwich Albion. However, despite a good start to the season with the Baggies, his game time at the Hawthorns was limited once Tony Pulis took over from Alan Irvine in January.

Meanwhile, Reds defender Martin Skrtel has revealed his excitement at returning to Helsinki, where Liverpool are set to play a pre-season friendly against HJK.

"I have been there two or three times. The last time I was in Helsinki was, I think, three years ago when I went to see the Slovakian ice hockey team," Skrtel told Liverpool's official site.

"We won the silver medal so I have good memories and we have a lot of fans over there so it should be an interesting game as well."

"We know we have a lot of fans there so it is similar to going to Asia. We want to go there so they can see us play."

"It'll be a nice experience and it's the last game before the season starts so it'll be very good for us," the Slovakian defender explained.
