Liverpool have completed the signing of midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Brazilian side Internacional. Despite the paperwork being completed on transfer deadline day, the move was only confirmed by the club 24 hours later.

"Liverpool Football Club can confirm the signing of Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Internacional," a statement on the Reds' official site read. The 18-year-old midfielder has been immediately sent on a six-month loan to Finnish club Seinajoen Jalkapallokerho until January.

Allan has spent the summer with Liverpool, after being granted permission by the Brazilian club, making three appearances for the Liverpool U21 side and even scoring a goal against Birmingham City last week.

The midfielder was also included in Brendan Rodgers' squad for their pre-season friendly in Helsinki before the start of the season. Allan becomes the fourth Brazilian currently in the Liverpool squad alongside Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

According to Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside club submitted all the paperwork regarding the transfer on deadline day, but made the announcement only on Wednesday, 2 September. The two clubs are said to have agreed a fee of around £500,000 for the transfer of the midfielder.

Meanwhile, former Reds midfielder Luis Garcia has called on the club to be patient with Firmino and give him time to adapt to the Premier League. The Liverpool legend feels that he will have an influence on games once he creates a good understanding with his teammates.

"It's not easy to come into the Premier League and adapt. I think that he's a very good player but you have to give him time to adapt to the pace of the game, to the players, the different situations in games," Garcia told the Liverpool Echo. "He's a player that wants to do things to change games, like Coutinho does at the moment," the former Spanish international midfielder added.
