Man to appear in court over Buckingham Palace trespass charge

A 41-year-old man will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later today (20 May) after allegedly scaling a perimeter wall at Buckingham palace. Dennis Hennessey, of Wembley, north-west London, is charged with trespass on a protected site and criminal damage.
Hennessey was arrested on Wednesday (18 May) evening, seven minutes after an alarm was triggered, according to the Metropolitan police. The force added that officers did not deploy a taser.
The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip were at their residence following the State Opening of Parliament earlier in London. They were both informed about the incident.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: "We never comment on security, which is a matter for police."
