Morgan Schneiderlin's agent has rubbished talk of the midfielder leaving Manchester United on transfer deadline day. The out-of-favour Frenchman has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur – but Pascal Boisseau has insisted Schneiderlin will be staying at Old Trafford.
Schneiderlin, 26, has fallen even further down the pecking order at United since the arrival of Paul Pogba earlier this summer, having also dropped out of favour under Louis van Gaal.
However, his agent has revealed Schneiderlin has no intention of leaving the club. Boisseau told Sport Witness: "He's staying in Manchester."
Schneiderlin has been linked with a move away from United throughout the summer, with Everton also rumoured to have been interested in the France international. That deal would have seen him reunite with his former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.
But Schneiderlin has previously insisted he is determined to stay with the Reds and scrap for his place in the United team. "I'm going to fight for my place every day and will see what is going to be. But, of course, I want to play," he said, according to the Manchester Evening News.
"Like I said, I'm hungrier after last season, it was not the season I expected and I want to prove myself. I want to eat football!"
United boss Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, recently said he is happy with his squad and had no plans to make any last-minute additions. "I think we are going to have a very quiet week, not surrounded by helicopters waiting for someone to arrive or leave – I am more than happy with the squad I have," Mourinho explained last week, according to United's official website.
