Manchester United are preparing a fresh bid to lure Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to Old Trafford following the sacking of Rafael Benitez. The Red Devils are ready to offer over £75m ($110m) to bring the Welshman back to the Premier League.

According to the Mirror, the 20-times English champions are confident of completing the deal as they look to take advantage of the recent sacking of Benitez, which has reportedly upset the former Tottenham attacker. Louis van Gaal's side are missing a true creative spark and the Dutchman has earmarked the transfer record holder to haul his team back to the top of the table.

Zinedine Zidane has been appointed the new manager of the Spanish giants and the Frenchman has admitted that Bale is disappointed with the sacking of the former Liverpool boss. But the former player made it clear that the Welshman is still a key part of his plans and reassured Bale that he will receive the same prominence that he was given under Benitez.

United, however, are hoping that the disappointment will lead to his return to the Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, they are hoping that the lure of playing under boyhood idol Ryan Giggs, who is poised to take over from Van Gaal once he departs the club, can tempt Bale into choosing Old Trafford over other interested parties.

The Red Devils, though, will not have it easy, as reigning Premier League champions Chelsea have begun jostling for Bale's signature and will match any bid that the Manchester club makes. The report claims that Zidane's interest in Eden Hazard, who is currently struggling at Stamford Bridge, could tilt the move in favour of the Blues.

The Belgian international has failed to score a single goal for the club this season and could be tempted with a move away in the summer, with Bale being targeted as a potential replacement.
