Melania Trump Reportedly 'Grateful' Natalie Harp Handles Donald's Constant Need for Attention

Melania Trump is reportedly not jealous of Natalie Harp's frequent presence around President Donald Trump. Gossip columnist Rob Shuter reported on 27 August, citing unnamed sources, that Melania does not view 35-year-old Harp as competition.

One source described as a 'Trumpworld' insider told Shuter that Melania is 'grateful for her', claiming Harp is willing to handle the constant attention Trump demands. The report comes as Harp's increasingly prominent role within Trump's inner circle draws greater scrutiny.

Melania Reportedly Has No Issue With Harp

The same source told Shuter that Harp's presence takes 'an enormous amount of pressure off' Melania. Shuter also cited a second unnamed source, who characterised Harp and Melania as having different approaches to Trump's time and attention. According to that source, Harp 'wants to be there for every meeting, every trip, every moment,' while Melania does not.

The source further claimed that the two women 'want entirely different relationships with Donald' and suggested that this is why the arrangement works. These statements are allegations attributed to unnamed sources cited by Shuter and have not been independently verified. Neither Melania Trump nor the White House has publicly confirmed the claims.

Harp's Growing Presence

Natalie Harp is a special assistant and executive assistant to the president and has become a familiar figure by Trump's side. She became known as the 'human printer' because she carried a portable printer and supplied Trump with printed news stories and other material, including favourable coverage.

She also drew attention after it was reported that she was among a small group of aides who accompanied Trump when he secretly left Air Force One on a catering truck in Turkey in July amid a potential Iranian assassination threat.

The Speculation Turns Political

Harp's prominent role beside Trump has increasingly become a subject of political debate, not just gossip. On 16 August, Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff brought Harp into the political spotlight while criticising Trump over his handling of national security and other priorities, saying the president wanted to 'build his ballroom and travel with Natalie.' Ossoff later explained the remark, saying he had heard Harp described as a 'security blanket' and arguing that Trump's aides should tell him what he needs to hear rather than what he wants to hear.

His comments drew criticism from Trump allies and prompted a response from the White House, thrusting Harp further into the spotlight.

Reporting has also examined Harp's history of bone cancer and her long-standing claim that Trump's Right to Try law helped her access treatment. Medical experts cited by The Washington Post have questioned whether the treatment she described would have been covered by the federal law.

Melania Has Not Been Entirely Out of Sight

Melania Trump has continued her public duties. She returned to the White House on 20 August after more than a month without a major public appearance, attending an event for her 'Fostering the Future' initiative. She even joked about her absence, telling attendees, 'I heard you missed me.'

On 23 August, she appeared with Trump at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, DC. Official White House photographs showed the pair attending the race and joining a ceremonial lap.
