Defending champion and Honda rider Marc Marquez took pole for the 2015 British Grand Prix. He will start the Sunday, 30 August race from the front at Silverstone.

Qualifying Review

Marquez sealed the 28th pole of his career and sixth of this season after recording the fastest ever lap time at Silverstone. The Spaniard clocked a time of 2:00.234s in the final lap of the qualifying session.

Joint championship leader and Yamaha rider Jorgen Lorenzo was initially third behind Honda's Dani Pedrosa. However, an impressive final lap helped him beat his compatriot and seal the second place, ahead of third place Pedrosa.

Lorenzo was 0.288s behind Marquez and the duo, along with Pedrosa will lock horns for the front row. Valentino Rossi had a poor qualifying session and he compensated by clocking a time of 2:00.947s, which saw him finish fourth.
