Multiple people were found dead inside a home in Sarasota County, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon following what authorities have described as an isolated shooting incident with no ongoing threat to the public.

Deputies from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call from a neighbouring resident at approximately 12:24 p.m. on 10 February, arriving at the scene in the 4800 block of Fallcrest Circle in the Amberlee neighbourhood just five minutes later. The residential area is located near the intersection of McIntosh and Proctor roads in eastern Sarasota County.

No Survivors Found at Scene

Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims inside the property, none of whom survived. Matthew Binkley, Sarasota County Community Affairs Manager, confirmed to the media that there were no survivors but could not provide details about potential suspects or whether anyone had been taken into custody.

A weapon was recovered from the home, though authorities did not specify how many weapons may have been involved or their connection to the incident. Investigators noted there were no signs of forced entry at the residence, which is situated within a gated community.

Authorities Declare Incident Isolated

The sheriff's office has emphasised that this appears to be an isolated incident, with all persons believed to be accounted for. 'It is currently a shooting investigation. We do have multiple persons involved, and it appears that all of those persons are accounted for, therefore, being an isolated incident with no threat to the public,' a sheriff's office spokesperson stated during a press conference.

Police confirmed they are not actively searching for additional suspects and believe the scene is contained to the single residence.

Community Response and Safety Measures

As a precautionary measure, several nearby schools were placed on lockdown following the shooting. Sarasota Middle School, Suncoast Technical College, Suncoast Polytechnical High School, Wilkinson Elementary School, and Ashton Elementary School all secured their perimeters.

The lockdowns were lifted after approximately 15 minutes, with officials confirming all schools were safe and there were no threats to students or staff members.

The gated Amberlee community remained under tight security throughout Tuesday afternoon, with deputies checking identification of residents attempting to enter the area to ensure only those who lived there could access the vicinity of the crime scene.

Ongoing Investigation

A substantial law enforcement presence remained in the area throughout Tuesday afternoon, with the sheriff's office establishing a media staging area at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church, approximately one block from the shooting scene. Multiple resources were deployed to the scene, including Crime Scene Investigation teams, Forensics units, Victim Advocates, Criminal Investigations, an Unmanned Aircraft System conducting overhead searches, and the Patrol Bureau.

Investigators are currently taking statements from witnesses and neighbours whilst examining potential surveillance footage, including doorbell camera recordings. The home had been the subject of two previous police calls, though officials stated it did not appear to be a residence of suspicious nature or one requiring routine police services.

Authorities have not yet been able to identify the victims or notify next of kin. They could not confirm whether all victims were adults or if the individuals involved knew one another. The investigation caused traffic delays on Proctor Road eastbound, with road closures implemented from McIntosh Road to Honore Avenue due to the heavy law enforcement presence.
