Nice airport has been evacuated after a security alert was prompted by a suspicious package left at Terminal One. Passengers have been ordered out of the airport amid heightened tensions in the French Riviera following Thursday's (14 July) terror attack. The building has been sealed off and military personnel are at the scene.

Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a Tunisian man who lived in Nice, is thought to be the man who drove a lorry hundreds of metres through a packed Promenade des Anglais as thousands of revellers celebrated Bastille Day.

Scores of people – including one UK national – were injured in the atrocity, which was brought to a bloody end when the driver, who reportedly got out of the vehicle and opened fire on people, was shot and killed by armed police.

Update - the security alert has been lifted and passengers have been allowed back into the airport
