One Direction fans will be happy to learn that Zayn Malik will not be walking down the aisle any time soon.

The 21-year-old pop star's obligations to the band have forced him to postpone plans to marry his fiancée Perrie Edwards in 2015, Star newspaper reports.

One Direction are set to kick off their On The Road Again tour in Australia in February and will play dates in Japan, South Africa, Finland, America, Canada and the UK.

But it looks like Edwards, a member of girl band Little Mix, has no problem waiting for her man.

"We have no idea [when we will wed]. We're just going with the flow, we're just happy to be engaged and enjoying it... We'll get there eventually when we're not too busy to make it perfect, "she said.

Malik and Edwards started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the set of The X Factor. In August last year, they announced their engagement.

"It was so romantic - Zayn popped the question over the weekend when they were alone together," a source told The Mirror at the time. "It's one of the first weekends they've spent with each other, as they've both been on tours with their bands. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment."

News of their thwarted wedding plans come months after the couple denied reports that they had tied the knot in secret.

The rumour mill went into overdrive after the Midnight Memories hitmaker was spotted wearing what appeared to be a wedding band on his ring finger in a picture on Instagram.

A spokesperson for the One Direction singer later said: "Perrie and Zayn are not married. The picture shows his engagement ring."
