U.S. President Barack Obama and Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny on Tuesday (March 19th) attended the annual Friends of Ireland lunch at the U.S. Capitol. The event is intended to highlight the strong bond the U.S. and Ireland share.

House Speaker John Boehner hosted the event, which featured a solo by Tenor Anthony Kearns. The song was "O'America."

After the luncheon, President Obama, Irish Prime Minister Kenny, Representative Peter King and House Speaker John Boehner, all wearing green neck ties, walked down the stairs from the U.S. Capitol, side by side, to the waiting presidential motorcade.

The President and Mrs. Obama hosted a St. Patrick's Day reception in the White House later on Tuesday.
