The 2016 Uefa Europa Cup will see the Champions League winners Real Madrid face the Europa League winners Sevilla at the Lerkendal Stadion, Trondheim on 9 August, Tuesday.

Real Madrid won the Europe's elite club competition after beating their derby rivals Atletico Madrid at the San Siro in May. They have already defeated Sevilla in the Super Cup two years ago and will be looking to do the same when they face the La Liga outfit on Tuesday.

However, the Spanish capital club will be without their star man Cristiano Ronaldo, who picked up an injury in the Euro 2016 final, while in action with Portugal. His national side won the tournament by beating host nation France.

Sevilla have won the Europa League for the third consecutive year in a row. They achieved the last one after beating Premier League outfit 3-1 in the final. However, things have not gone well for the Spanish club as they have lost their manager Unai Emery, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain to replace Laurent Blanc.

Emery was replaced by former Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli at Sevilla. He will be looking to help his side win the Uefa Super after failing to win in the last two occasions. They lost to Real and Barcelona respectively.
