The Samsung Galaxy S3, the South Korean's flagship smartphone, is expected to be released in the UK market by the end of this month. It was originally to be launched in two colours - Pebble Blue and Marble White.

However, a report by suggests the company is having manufacturing difficulties for the Pebble Blue model and may not release that in time. Vivin Peters, Samsung Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) PR Manager, confirmed the news. The Pebble Blue model should be available in early June.

Apparently Samsung had to destroy some 600,000 Pebble Blue battery covers since they were defective. A certain Scandinavian retailer, who pre-ordered the S3, received an email saying the Pebble Blue models had been delayed from the original shipping date on 29 May.

"Dear customer, Thank you ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3 Blue Pebble of us. We are sorry to announce that we will not deliver it on release date, which is on 29/5. This is because the supplier has suddenly stopped all deliveries of the blue mobile. This applies to all retailers and operators in Scandinavia, and is not something that only affects CDON.CO. We have tried to maintain a dialogue with Samsung, but without success. Samsung says that the preliminary shipping date is week 22, but this is unfortunately not something that we are yet to confirm. CDON.COM will compensate all effected customers by sending out a free coupon for the license to Samsung navigator (value of 599). We would again like to emphasise that there are some blue models to Scandinavia before the release, nor any dealer or any operator. We apologise for the inconvenience. Sincerely CDON.COM," read the mail, according to PhoneArena.

Meanwhile Phandroid claims to have received an email from online retailer Negri Electronics. The surprising point is that this time a delay is claimed in delivering the Marble White models.

"To many, being first is a necessary. To us, it is a requirement. While we do not have great news for customers, we still anticipate to be the first to carry the Galaxy S3, but the date has been set to the 29. Our supplier originally gave us a firm date of arrival for the 25th, but failed to follow through the promise putting us in a compromising position with our reputation and name. We are anticipating the Blue, 16GB Galaxy S3 before the White. At this time we are not trying to assume a delay from Samsung; but the White is expected to arrive June 1," reads the mail.
