Sandra Bullock Recalls Seeing UFOs and Says Government Files Made Her Feel 'Not Insane'

Sandra Bullock says she no longer felt 'like an insane person' about a mysterious sighting over St Martin after reading government files on unidentified aerial phenomena which, in her view, appeared to mirror what she saw and gave her the confidence to talk about it publicly for the first time.

A second light then approached from another direction, followed by several more, she said. Bullock said she considered whether the lights could have been aircraft, but they stayed in position until five had appeared.

'There was five all together, and they all came together,' Bullock said. 'All of a sudden they just took off.'

The 'Miss Congeniality' actor said she looked around to ask whether anyone else had seen the lights. She said she thought one of the others present had also witnessed the moment.

Bullock described the incident as a one-off and did not say she had experienced a similar sighting since. She did not identify the film production, the date of the incident or the people who were with her.

Bullock said she did not discuss the sighting publicly until the release of government documents relating to unidentified aerial phenomena. She told podcast host Kylie Kelce that an 'exact formation' resembling the one she described had also been seen by 'legitimate pilots'.

'And then I was just quiet about it until the government released the documents,' Bullock said. 'So I feel... vindicated.'

She also said: 'I'm so happy that the government has finally corroborated my story, so I no longer feel like an insane person.'

The statement reflects Bullock's interpretation of the released material rather than confirmation that officials verified her individual sighting.

The distinction is central to Bullock's account: she says similar reports in government material persuaded her that she had not imagined the experience.
