Police searching for a 14-year-old boy who got into difficulty after swimming in a reservoir have found a body.

Emergency services were called to Torduff Reservoir in Bonaly Country Park on the outskirts of Edinburgh, last night at around 6.15pm.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the body was recovered during a multi-agency search.

He said efforts were underway to trace the boy's next of kin and inform them of the discovery.

Colinton councillor Jason Rust said: "This is desperately sad and tragic news. My thoughts are with the young person's family and friends at this difficult time."
