According to the Associated Press, Israel's domestic security agency, Shin Bet, confirmed it urgently evacuated Yair Netanyahu from Miami in December 2025 after identifying what it described as a 'significant threat'.

The disclosure comes as the US Secret Service continues to investigate unrelated Iran-linked threats directed at Barron Trump following videos aired by Iranian state media and Iran-linked outlets.

Shin Bet Confirmed the Miami Evacuation

The operation became public after Benjamin Netanyahu told Israel's Channel 14 that Iran had attempted to kill one of his sons. 'Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to kill, to murder one of my sons,' the Israeli prime minister said in remarks reported by Reuters.

The Associated Press later reported that Shin Bet confirmed it had carried out an emergency operation to remove Yair Netanyahu from Miami after assessing there was a 'significant threat' to his safety. The agency did not disclose the nature of the intelligence or identify any suspected perpetrators. Yair, 35, had been living in Florida since 2023 before returning to Israel following the operation.

Why Barron Trump's Security Is Under Scrutiny

Separately, the US Secret Service has confirmed it is investigating threats aimed at Barron Trump after videos aired by Iranian state media and Iran-linked media outlets featured the US president's youngest son.

A Secret Service spokesperson said the agency is aware of the material and investigates 'anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,' while declining to discuss operational details. Reuters and CNN reported that the videos formed part of broader Iran-linked messaging directed at the Trump family.

Barron and First Lady Melania Trump were also referenced in earlier Iran-linked videos, prompting additional reviews by US authorities. Officials have not publicly disclosed intelligence indicating an imminent attack.

The Two Cases Remain Unrelated

There is no public evidence that the threat involving Yair Netanyahu and the threats directed at Barron Trump are connected or stem from the same operation. The confirmed Israeli case involved an intelligence assessment that resulted in an emergency evacuation.

By contrast, US authorities have confirmed only that they are investigating threatening broadcasts and have not publicly indicated that Barron Trump faces the same level of risk or that similar protective measures have been required.
