Manchester United face Southampton in a Premier League clash at St Mary's Stadium on Monday evening.

Where to Watch live

Kick-off is at 8pm GMT. Live coverage is on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

After an impressive start to the Premier League season, Southampton have struggled in recent times as they have picked up only one point in the last three matches. The Saints suffered defeats at the hands of Manchester City and Arsenal.

To make things worse for the South Coast club, they have several key players on the treatment table and Ronald Koeman will have a huge task to restrict United on Monday evening.

So far, the Red Devils have managed only one win away from home – against Arsenal. Koeman would be looking to trouble the Old Trafford club when Southampton face them in the league clash.

United are on a great run as they won their last four league matches. In the process, they have conceded only two goals and kept two clean sheets. Louis van Gaal has been grappling with injuries and he will be without the services of Angel Di Maria for their trip to St Mary's Stadium.

United are fourth in the league table with 25 points from 14 games and are one point behind third place Southampton. A win for either side will see them take the third spot.

What Managers Say

Ronald Koeman: "Normally, if Southampton play Manchester United, Manchester United is the favourite, but they know it will be a tough game. Our performance against Arsenal was a good one, much better than the City game, but in the Premier League, there isn't an easy game to win."

Louis van Gaal: "It's the same in every country. Every country always has at the beginning of the season a surprise. But as I have said, what always matters is the end of May. That counts. Now it's not so important. They have a very good squad. I know a lot of [Southampton's] players and a lot of players were offered to us.
