Following the partnership between Spotify and Facebook last week, the music streaming service now demands that new users have a Facebook account before signing up.

When visiting the sign-up page at Spotify, would-be users are now greeted with "You need a Facebook account to register for Spotify. If you have an account, just log in below to register. If you don't have a Facebook account, get one by clicking the 'create an account' link below".

This has angered many users and there is currently a debate taking place on Twitter, with the management company Unicum Music saying "You've sold your soul to the devil Spotify, 'Can you sign up to Spotify without a Facebook account? Not anymore."
