Where to watch live

The game is set to start at 8pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be on Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports 3 HD.

Overview

This is Wawrinka's sixth consecutive entry into the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam and his fourth in the US Open, where he is yet to achieve success thus far. The Swiss player has had an incredible US Open campaign this time around, dropping only a solitary set in four rounds.

He has served 56 aces and 208 winners, and made 191 unforced errors in his previous matches. He has looked at his best by far after a disappointing Wimbledon campaign where he crashed out of the quarter-finals, fresh from winning the 2015 edition of the Ronald Garros. The two-time Grand Slam winner will be a favourite going into the game, but he will be well advised to keep his guard, given the number of upsets that have already happened in this tournament.

Meanwhile, Anderson will have wind in his tails following a brilliant display against Murray where he attacked the British number one with endeavour and gusto. He ended Murray's streak of 18 consecutive entries into the quarter-finals of Grand Slam events. This is the first time that Anderson has made his way into the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam since becoming a professional in 2008..

The South African struck 94 aces and 208 winners while making 153 unforced errors as he made his way through the tournament. This is the first time that Anderson and Wawrinka are meeting in a Grand Slam, but Anderson has had the better of Wawrinka in other ATP tournaments.

Head to head

The two have played each other seven times, with Anderson leading 4-3.
