Pace bowler Steven Finn has been brought into the England Test squad after recovering from a foot injury ahead of the series against South Africa.

Finn, 26, was initially left out of the squad after missing the Test series against Pakistan in October and November after suffering a stress fracture. But the paceman has proven his fitness in the UAE with the England Lions, having played in two Twenty20 matches against Pakistan on December 11 and 12, picking up four wickets. He is now set to join up with the squad ahead of the four-match series with begins later in December.

Finn said: "I've been really pleased with the way things have gone with the Lions. I've bowled my overs and my foot has come through fine. I'm excited by the prospect of linking up with the team out in South Africa."

England begin the first Test in Durban on Boxing Day.
