Great Britain enjoyed their most successful day in the Olympic Games since 1908 on Saturday, winning five gold medals to cement their third place status in the medal table.

Katherine Copeland and Sophie Hosking excelled in the women's Lightweight Double Sculls. In the main men's rowing race it was gold for - rowers Alex Gregory, Tom James, Pete Reed and Andrew Triggs Hodge .

Track cycling, yielded a fifth gold medal and another world record for the women's team pursuit trio of Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell and Dani King as Great Britain's dominance of the track continued. Christine Ohuruogu's won a silver in the 400m final.

But it was at the Olympic stadium on the second night of the athletics competition, where Team GB won three gold medals in one of the greatest evening in British sporting history.

Jessica Ennis got the ball rolling as she lived up to her billing as the golden girl of London 2012 by claiming heptathlon gold, while Greg Rutherford realised his potential in the long jump, winning an unlikely gold just minutes later.

And the evening was capped by Mo Farah, who sprinted to victory in the 10,000m to enhance his claim as Britain's greatest long-distance runner.

The gold rush continued on Sunday as Ben Ainslie won his fourth gold medal to become the most successful sailor in Olympic history, while Andy Murray won his first major tennis title, beating Roger Federer in straight sets in the gold final at Wimbledon. Murray and Laura Robson had to settle for silver in the mixed doubles final after defeat to Belarus pair Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi.

Elsewhere, Louis Smith and Max Whitlock won silver and bronze respectively in the pommel horse final.

So it's day 10 today so what's happening then? first off it's Track Cycling: Jason Kenny isn't through to the sprint final yet, if he does get through he will face world champion Gregory Bauge of France in the men's individual sprint final. The 23-year-old faces a big challenge after being selected ahead of reigning Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy for the event. Meanwhile, Victoria Pendleton will continue her quest for gold in the women's individual sprint, in the quarter-finals this afternoon.

Gymnastics: Beth Tweddle will look to win her first Olympic medal in the women's uneven bars.

Athletics: Team GB athletics captain and world champion Dai Greene will be in action in the men's 400m hurdles final after scraping through the qualifier with the seventh-fastest time.

In Pole vaulting Holly Bleasdale will be competing in the women's pole vault.

Also coming up we have -Men's Handball: Great Britain v Iceland, Men's Basketball: Great Britain v China Men's Volleyball: Great Britain v Argentina, Men's Water Polo: Great Britain v Montenegro, and Women's Hockey: Great Britain v the Netherlands.

Team GB are now third in the medal table - with 16 golds, 11 silvers and 10 bronzes – and no doubt they will be keen to add to their tally on Monday.
