Borussia Dortmund midfielders Sven Bender and Ilkay Gundogan have not travelled to London for the Europa League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but Nuri Sahin is likely to make the squad.

Tottenham trail 3-0 from the first leg of their last-16 clash, with goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and a brace from Marco Reus consigning them to a heavy defeat at the Westfalenstadion on 10 March.

Gundogan was deemed unfit for the first leg but was not missed with Julian Weigl providing a commanding presence in midfield. Dortmund's official website has confirmed the 25-year-old, who has once again been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, is still suffering from some bruising and has remained in Germany. Bender has not recovered from an ankle sprain and has also not joined the travelling party.

Dortmund have otherwise brought a strong squad with them, with Aubameyang also making the trip, despite some suggestions he could be rested.

With eight games of the Bundesliga season remaining, Dortmund are also still within a chance of dethroning Bayern Munich at the summit of German football, trailing Pep Guardiola's side by just five points.

Following Thursday's game at White Hart Lane, they renew their league campaign against FC Augsburg before the international break at the end of March. Thomas Tuchel's side will have to rely on Bayern slipping up if they are to catch up with them, although the club still have a German Cup semi-final against Hertha BSC on the horizon.
