Around an hour left until the window closes, then. Loads of deals still to be confirmed, I suspect, and there's bound to be all the usual drama.
It never ceases to amaze that so many clubs seem to spend the majority of the window sitting tight, before scrambling around for players in the closing moments. Still, at least it makes it interesting for the fans, eh.

At Anfield, Lazar Markovic is reportedly in talks about a potential return to Portugal, with Sporting Lisbon interested in signing him.
Mario Balotelli is also said to be on the cusp of joining Nice, although that deal is dragging on, too. As a reminder, the window slums shut at 11pm BST. Not long to go, then.
Meanwhile, even Spurs' new signing Georges-Kevin NKoudou has managed to see the funny side of his exhausting transfer from Marseille.

To the Premier League champions now, and Islam Slimani of Sporting Lisbon has been given permission to leave Algeria's training camp to have a medical with Leicester City.
The Foxes earned a lot of money last year, will earn even more this year through the Champions League - and are not shy about spending their new-found riches.

Since joining Sunderland, David Moyes has been busily recruiting any player he has ever worked with – or at least, it's felt that way.
The Scot has been linked with a move for Norwich midfielder Steven Naismith. But according to the Daily Record, that deal is now off.

On the David Luiz front, it'll be interesting to see where he fits in at Chelsea. He is, perhaps, a better defensive midfielder than he is a central defender. But the Blues already signed N'Golo Kante earlier this summer, so...

Real Madrid have had an unusually quiet summer in 2016. In fact, they've barely made a ripple and it seems today will be no different.
Midfielder Isco, who has been linked with a loan move away from the Bernabeu, has denied he is set to leave Madrid. The out-of-favour Spaniard told Cuarto: "I stay, I stay."
So that's that, then.

There's a bit of a lull for the time being before the inevitable dash to get deals over the line. We're still waiting on confirmation of some of the biggest moves, including David Luiz's much-discussed return to Chelsea.

Manchester City have allowed Eliaquim Mangala to join Valencia on loan. The Frenchman has been a bit of a flop in the Premier League, to be honest, and has fallen even further down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium in light of John Stones' arrival.

Away from Stamford Bridge, and The Mirror are reporting that Moussa Sissoko's final hope of sealing a last-ditch move to the Premier League lies with Everton.
Tottenham's offer to Newcastle is said to have fallen short of the mark and the Toffees are the only club who are still in the race for his signature, according to the report. This feels like it could go right up until the deadline...

CONFIRMED: Chelsea have signed Marcos Alonso - but he's unlikely to be their last transfer of the day.
The Spaniard is heading to Stamford Bridge in a £20m-plus move from Fiorentina. He could soon be joined at the Bridge by David Luiz, who is said to be on the cusp of completing a dramatic return to the club.

Stoke City are keeping themselves (and us) busy on transfer deadline day this year. The Potters have just completed a move for Bruno Martins Indi, the Dutch international defender, who has joined them from Porto on loan until the end of the season.

Liverpool have completed a deal, but it might not be the one Reds fans have been hoping for. Instead of Mario Ballotelli, the Premier League giants have sold midfielder Luis Alberto.

One man who does not seem likely to move this summer is James Rodriguez, who has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid over the last 12 months.
However, his agent, the well-travelled Jorge Mendes, has reportedly rubbished talk of a transfer. "He is staying at Real Madrid, he is staying for sure," Mendes has said.

We've still a few hours to go until the window shuts and there are plenty of deals that are yet to be completed, the most eye-catching of which feature Jack Wilshere, Sissoko and perhaps most remarkably of all, David Luiz.
Aside from those deals, we'll bring you all of the other moves and rumours over the next few hours - which promise to be as barmy as they have ever been.

As you can probably guess, Palace aren't the only club trying to sign Jack Wilshere today. Clubs from across Europe are trying to jump to the head of the queue and Roma are reportedly stepping up their efforts to ensure they get him.

On the eve of his final appearance for Germany, Bastian Schweinsteiger's club future remains in limbo. The Manchester United midfielder has been told he will have no role to play under Jose Mourinho this season and is free to leave on loan. The 32-year-old doesn't fancy a move to Portugal, however. A Bola report he has turned down offers from both Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.
Serge Gnabry now looks poised to leave Arsenal this afternoon. Werder Bremen have confirmed the German starlet will be presented by the club this afternoon.
The Gunners can always buy him back for a £100m a few years down the line if this backfires, though.

Another strand to this David Luiz back to Chelsea line, and that is that manager Antonio Conte has has sanctioned the pursuit of the Brazil international, according to The Daily Telegraph. That would rival some of the craziest deadline day deals for sure.
We are expecting Tottenham to confirm one signing today in the form of Georges-Kevin N'Koudou whose long-drawn out move from Marseille is finally at an end. The 21-year-old took to Twitter to confirm he has already begun training with Spurs, ahead of the deal being officially ratified. But will he be joined on deadline day?
I am normally the first in line to take a cynical glare at the transfer window, but even I would concede it is bubbling up this afternoon. Several big deals up in the air and many more to come, you would think.
One line which I haven't got round to posting regards Saido Berahino, who has been involved in deadline day drama before. West Brom do not expect to sell him today. How his stock has fallen.
That David Luiz move doesn't make a great deal of sense for either Chelsea or PSG really. The Blues' need for another defender is hardly desperate, and they do have younger options if need be, while their French counterparts are hardly awash with options at centre-back either. Great move for Luiz however, who was a popular figure in west London.
Here we go again. The Daily Mail say David Luiz's return to Chelsea is still on...

Final word on the Bony deal from the man himself, who is thrilled to have completed his move to the Potteries.

Some comments from Mark Hughes on the capture of Bony, who arrives for the 2016-17 season. No indication of a possible permanent deal.
"Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for us to be perfectly honest, because he knows the Premier League and has scored plenty of goals at this level," the Welshman said. "He has power, speed and very good physical attributes which will undoubtedly help us, and his technical and finishing skills are outstanding too. Eighteen months ago he was being bought for a hugely significant amount of money, so we know that we are bringing in a top quality striker."
Not a huge surprise this, but Wilfried Bony has moved to Stoke on a 12-month loan. Just the 10 hours remaining in the summer transfer window, mercilessly.

Morgan Schneiderlin "staying in Manchester" the player's agent has told Sport Witness - amid links with Tottenham Hotspur. That's that, then.
Should that Sissoko deal go through [and we're a while away from that I can assure you] then this latest line may have some legs; Cesc Fabregas moving on loan to AC Milan, according to The Express.

French publication L'Equipe understand Chelsea have joined the race to sign Moussa Sissoko from under the noses of Tottenham. Newcastle have set the bar at £30m. Get the feeling this is going to be the which will run until the small hours.
More from Joe Hart after confirmation of his move from Manchester City to Torino on a season-long loan:
"Suddenly my career has undergone a change, I interpreted it as a sign of destiny," he told the club's official website. "And so I had to do something. The selection of Turin has come at the right time, in the right way. I am very happy to be able to compare in a beautiful and difficult league like Serie A. Your school of goalkeeping is recognised throughout the world , so I am convinced I can still learn a lot here in Toro.
"I immediately accepted with great enthusiasm the proposal of the President of Cairo. I already know Lombardo and with Attilio we worked in Manchester and we also won and we hope to relive many beautiful emotions together. I read some interviews on the Taurus, the coach, and he wants players who are humble but ambitious, that's how I want to be "

These are the deals that has been the most discussed this summer. Several of them not even coming to fruition. The usual suspects at the top.

What of Mario Balotelli this deadline day? The latest we understand is the Italian is at Nice for a medical however a deal is yet to be agreed with Liverpool, which will surely include the Reds paying a high percentage of his wages in the south of France. The deal will surely go through, but it will continue to cost the Merseysiders.
More on that story from The Daily Mail, who believe that Tottenham could turn their attention to Morgan Schneiderlin after balking at Newcastle's valuation of Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman has slipped down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho and could jump at the chance to link-up with Mauricio Pochettino for the second time, having flourished under his stewardship at Southampton. United are unlikely to agree to a deal anywhere short of the £25m they paid just 12 months ago.
Confirmation from Werder Bremen that Serge Gnabry will be unveiled as their new signing from 2:30pm BST after completing his move from Arsenal. Let's hope he tidies himself up a little.

The Sissoko saga rolls on.....
I understand WBA have proposed a swap deal plus cash involving Callum McManaman & Moussa Sissoko but NUFC will not entertain it.
— Craig Hope (@CraigHope_DM) August 31, 2016
Another interesting one on what is increasingly looking like quite a busy day. West Brom are interested in bringing in Jay Rodriguez from Southampton, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The Guardian understand Everton are ready to break their transfer record to sign Yacine Brahimi from FC Porto.
Leicester City on the verge of signing Islam Slimani, but that might not be the end of their spending. Sporting Lisbon hemorrhaging players.

The plot thickens regarding Moussa Sissoko, who continues to be subject of interest from Tottenham. Newcastle want £30m for the player, in £6m installments.
I understand NUFC will accept £30m for Moussa Sissoko in five instalments of £6m. They aren't open for negotiation. That's the deal.

Jack Wilshere has met with Eddie Howe - a manager tipped with becoming a future England manager of course -and is leaning towards a move to the south coast.

Just 13 hours of the summer transfer window remaining for clubs across the country and in the major leagues in Europe to get deals completed. Currently the big moves could involve Moussa Sissoko, who is being courted by Tottenham, and Jack Wilshere who is considering moves to Palace and Bournemouth. But for now, it's the calm before the storm.
A nice little interesting tit bit which has flown under the radar; Swansea City are trying to do a deal for West Ham's Enner Valencia, according to ESPN. The Hammers are short of forwards themselves but the Swans's need is great having lost Andre Ayew to the east Londoners.
It wouldn't be deadline day without Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togo forward has been unattached since being offloaded by Crystal Palace at the end of last term, but is now being linked with a move to Fulham. That would be the fourth different London club of the 32-year-old's career. We won't hold our breath, however.
Arsenal might be quiet on deadline day but they completed the signing of two players in the form of Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi, who have brought Arsene Wenger's recruitment to six. The club did make an approach to acquire Miguel Almiron but the player's agent says a bid has not been made. May they firm up their interest?
He might not be everyone's favourite, but Sky Sports' won Jim White has some interesting news regarding Chelsea.
Chelsea-bound Marcos Alonso having medical right now in Surrey.

Would be fair to say deadline day does polarise opinion. Here are just a few views from Twitter this morning.

Today is expected to be dominated by the future of Jack Wilshere, who is almost certain to leave Arsenal today on a season-long loan. After being linked with a host of overseas clubs, it appears he will decide between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Our correspondent Tony Mogan has written a piece speculating which others clubs could make a late move.
Another player destined to leave on deadline day, probably on loan, is Wilfried Bony of Manchester City. The Ivory Coast international is being linked with moves to West Ham and Stoke, and has tweeted this morning that he is ready for a "new exciting challenge". We'll wait and see.
Itâs a new day and I look forward to a new exciting challenge ðª

Let's get straight into it, shall we? Moussa Sissoko will be leaving Newcastle United today, but where to? Tottenham are understood to have made a bid of £18m, and though that is way below what he is valued the midfielder has been given permission to leave the France camp - where he is training ahead of the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign.
.@MoussaSissoko a été autorisé par #Deschamps à quitter Clairefontaine à 9h pour finaliser son transfert. Direction Bari pour le groupe.

It was Albert Einstein who said that "if you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself." The same could very much be said about the final day of the transfer window, where twice a year broadcasters camp outside football grounds and training facilities in anticipation of breaking news while social media swirls with rumour, gossip and hearsay. It has a baffling attraction for a select few who are rapidly turning football from the sport of a nation, into a national soap opera.
Gone are the days when football took precedence; now the game is all about transfer activity, fantasy football, monotonous PR spin from players and managers seeking a key psychological edge. Oh, and 4-4-2 vs 3-4-3. Today is very much the headline act of that wall of shame, but nevertheless over the next 14 hours until the 11pm deadline or so we'll have news regarding all the deals that will and probably won't be completed. Get comfy, it's going to be a long one.
