Valencia have it all to do in the second leg of their round of 16 Europa League tie against Athletic Bilbao at the Mestalla on 17 March.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 6pm GMT. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Extra.

Overview

Valencia's poor run of form continued at the weekend as they lost 1-0 at bottom club Levante in the Valencian derby. The Mestalla side have lost their last three competitive meetings with Athletic Bilbao but have never suffered a defeat at home in the Europa League.

Full-back Joao Cancelo suffered a thigh injury in the Levante match and is ruled out of the Athletic clash. Enzo Perez (calf) and Andre Gomes (leg) are both doubtful to feature, while Denis Cheryshev (thigh) and Zakaria Bakkali (groin) are definitely out.

Atheltic Bilbao won their fifth straight match in all competitions by beating Real Betis 3-1 at home in the league on 13 March. The Basque club will back themselves to progress after Raul Garcia scored the only goal in the first leg at San Mames.

Ernesto Valverde has no fresh injury concerns. Forward Inaki Williams remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

What managers say

Gary Neville: "I have got to take responsibility for the defeat [against Levante], first of foremost, but that was an indefensible performance. Unacceptable. It was not good enough. I apologise to the fans of Valencia because the very basic premise of football match is that you run as hard, you fight as hard and you tackle as hard as the opposition. We won't play with that intensity on [Thursday], I can assure you that. From my point of view we have to pick ourselves up immediately."

Ernesto Valverde: "We could have scored more goals, but must stress [Valencia] could also have scored. We have to defend our lead there. As we predicted, this game would not be decisive. We have not conceded at home but we have to win there."
