Rapper and public figure Azealia Banks has accused UFC star Conor McGregor of sending her unsolicited nude photos and threatening messages intended to silence her. She made the claims in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on 14 July 2025, sharing screenshots of messages allegedly from McGregor and images of a shirtless man with distinctive tattoos.

In her post, Banks expressed outrage over the messages, which she referred to as 'crooked dick pics.' She called the incident 'HARAM,' using the Arabic word for something forbidden or immoral. One of the screenshots includes a message that reads, 'Don't be a rat. All rats get caught,' which Banks claims was an attempt to intimidate her. She responded with a rhetorical question: 'Do you know who the f*** I am?'

As of 2:22 PM BST on 14 July, neither McGregor nor his representatives have publicly addressed the allegations. However, McGregor's fiancée, Dee Devlin, shared photos of the couple on social media the same day to celebrate his birthday. Her post made no reference to the controversy.

Online Reaction and Legal Implications

Banks' post quickly sparked debate on social media, generating mixed reactions. Some users treated the situation as humorous or sensational, while others raised serious ethical and legal concerns. Several commentators highlighted that sharing explicit images without consent may violate laws on revenge porn or non-consensual image distribution.

Under UK law, the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 makes it illegal to disclose private sexual material without consent if it causes distress. Similar legislation exists in Ireland and various US states. While Banks claims she was responding to harassment, legal experts have pointed out that the act of posting such material could itself be unlawful especially if the individual in the images can be identified.

Critics have also suggested that Banks could face legal consequences for releasing the screenshots, regardless of her intent to expose alleged misconduct. Some questioned the timing of the post, which coincided with renewed speculation about McGregor's personal life, including rumours of infidelity.

Context and Prior Interactions

This is not the first time Banks and McGregor have interacted publicly. In 2018, McGregor expressed support for Banks during a separate controversy. The following year, Banks referred to herself as the 'Queen of Ireland' and directed online criticism at McGregor in a broader rant aimed at Irish people.

While these past exchanges hinted at a curious dynamic between the two, they did not suggest a personal relationship. The current accusations appear far more hostile and seem to stem from private interactions that have now become public.

A Growing Reputational Crisis

The allegations come amid ongoing reputational challenges for McGregor. In late 2024, a Dublin civil court found him liable for sexually assaulting a woman in 2018, ordering him to pay nearly €250,000 in damages and cover the plaintiff's legal fees. The verdict resulted in the loss of several sponsorship deals and led to the removal of his Proper No. Twelve whiskey and stout products from retail shelves.

With Banks' accusations now gaining widespread attention, McGregor's public image may face renewed scrutiny. It remains unclear whether legal action will be taken either against McGregor for the alleged misconduct or against Banks for potentially violating laws concerning image distribution.
